The Sooners were picked to finish right in the middle of the pack of their new league in 2024, eighth overall, in the SEC Media Poll, while Red River rival Texas was voted as the second-best team in America’s best college football conference.
Also among the three All-SEC Preseason Teams, the Sooners had just three selected, Danny Stutsman, Billy Bowman, and newcomer Deion Burks. Texas had 12 on the first, second, or third team offense, defense, or special teams.
