After Brent Venables and OU general manager Jim Nagy spent the Sooner Caravan circuit meeting with fans and alumni, several Oklahoma players have been singled out as spring risers. OU’s official Sooner Caravan page lists stops in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas and Lawton, with Venables and Nagy among the featured football voices.
In this episode, Jason and Chris discuss the players who proved they can be trusted for bigger roles this fall, using coach praise, spring intel from inside the Switzer Center and takeaways from the Sooners’ 2026 Spring Game in Norman. Oklahoma’s spring game returned after a one-year hiatus, with the Red team beating the White team 31-3 in front of 31,407 fans at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Players discussed include Nigel Smith II, Michael Boganowski, Jahsier Rogers, Manny Choice, Jake Maikkula, Trent Wilson, Tank Carrington and more. Boganowski, Smith and Carrington all appeared in the official spring game defensive stat sheet, while Rogers led the White team receivers with 5 catches for 70 yards and Manny Choice added a 25-yard reception for the Red team.
