If Nigel Smith is really in play for Ohio State, is it odd then that he skipped the OSU Spring Game in favor of Penn State on Saturday?
And if he was as impressed with the Nittany Lions' Spring Game as the rest of the recruits in attendance in Happy Valley reportedly were, what does it say about the Oklahoma Sooners' chances of landing the High-4-Star Defensive Line Recruit that some believe may be the most-athletic at his position in the entire country? Is it a stroke of luck (or even a stroke of Brent Venables' Magic) to be holding the OU Spring Game a week later?
It may be, as presently David Stone and Smith have announced they'll be in Norman for the Spring Game, and it's expected that Xadavien Sims, the Durant, Oklahoma D-Lineman and top recruit in the state is expected to be in attendance as well.
Top Defensive Line Recruit Williams Nwaneri will be in Boulder, Colorado for Coach Prime's first Spring Game as head coach of the CU Buffaloes, but is still believed to have Oklahoma atop his list of schools also. Can the Sooner Staff lock up Stone, Smith, Sims, and possibly persuade fast-rising 4-star DL Joseph Jonah-Ajonye of Louisiana, too, to make Norman home? It's unlikely that OU could get four top-end potential starters from the defensive line, but with as many as 6 of the top players at the defensive line position with OU in their sights, commitments from three of them certainly isn't out of the question.
