Notre Dame WILL Join the Big Ten Conference at some point soon. Like it or not, IT WILL HAPPEN.
Notre Dame has a very rich history and tradition with the conference, and it is a natural progression. College football is all about money and power, particularly these days with MEGA TV Deals leading to what is sure to become a pair of Super Conferences.
And Notre Dame will be a great addition to the B1G conference. It is a perfect fit. The Big Ten is going to get even more powerful, and Notre Dame will be … Notre Dame.
It won't change the mystique of the school, no matter what anyone says. The history, tradition, and prestige of such a school, the legend that goes along with it, doesn't change just because it FINALLY gets a conference affiliation.
The financials of Notre Dame, although already among the richest universities in the country, WILL CHANGE by joining the Big Ten - By MORE THAN DOUBLE.
Even the Golden Domers can't afford to throw away the kind of money that comes with aligning with one of the soon-to-be Super Conferences in The Big Ten.
While there are rumors that Notre Dame might not be joining the conference, you can simply chalk them up as rumors. It may not happen this week or even this year, but make no mistake, The University of Notre Dame WILL be joining the Big Ten when all is said and done.
