*LiveStream Replay: Yormark Proves His Worth as Big 12 Commissioner by Making Deal to Send Sooners and Longhorns on to the SEC after 2023 Season*
I'm not one to beat my own chest about being right, but I knew I wasn't wrong on Oklahoma and Texas still likely leaving for the SEC following the 2023 College Football season. It just had to happen for many reasons, although it likely would not have had Bob Bowlsby still been running the Big 12.
A week after negotiations stalled for Oklahoma and Texas to leave the Big 12 after the upcoming 2023 college football season, Brett Yormark proved he was worth his weight in gold by negotiating an Exit deal for OU and Texas that will see the two Blue Bloods play their first season of SEC Football in 2024.
Bowlsby would have somehow found a way to pay Oklahoma and Texas to leave the conference, rather than getting the two CFB Blue blood schools to cough up $50 Million each and allow everyone involved to make a clean break.
