The SEC just got rocked.
A Knoxville judge has denied Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar’s request for a preliminary injunction against the NCAA, dissolving the temporary restraining order and making him ineligible for the 2026 season — at least for now.
Aguilar argued that his junior college years should not count against his NCAA eligibility clock. The NCAA counts JUCO seasons toward the four-years-in-five rule, even though junior colleges are not NCAA members. The court initially believed Aguilar showed a likelihood of success under Tennessee trade law — but Friday’s ruling reversed course.
