*Sooners Play Host to Six 5-Star Recruits for Bedlam Grudge Match with Cowboys*
_ Visiting Quarterback Recruit Hewitt Joins Show to Talk About His OU Experience _
HOF College Football Podcast Host Jason Watkins talks with Oakland High School Quarterback Kade Hewitt of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, of the 2023 High School Recruiting Cycle, who led his team to National Top 10 Ranking and Class 6A State Championship in 2021.
Hewitt, his brother and junior offensive line protector/pass-catcher, Deuce Hewitt, and their Patriots teammates are coming off a victory over Blackman HS on Friday night in the Quarterfinal Round of the Class 6A Tennessee High School Playoffs. They are the favorites to repeat as champions, as Oakland has won three of the last four Tennessee state championships in the division.
He visited the Sooner program with his teammate, Oakland sophomore running back Avery Haynesworth, the son of former All-Pro NFL defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth. The younger Haynesworth received an offer as part of the 2025 Oklahoma recruiting class from running backs coach DeMarco Murray.
Among 16 other 2023 #recruiting cycle prospects in attendance for #Bedlam were *5-Star Defensive lineman from Houston David Hicks* (currently committed to Texas A&M), and 5-Star Safety *Peyton Bowen from Denton (TX) Guyer HS,* who is committed to Notre Dame at the moment.
Hewitt and his father, Chad, joined the show to tell us about their experience, as well as their impressions of the program following their day at OU.
Can First-year head coach Brent Venables and his staff flip Bowen and Hicks, or A&M Commit and 4-Star linebacker Daymion Sanford after their win over hated Okie Lite and Mike Gundy?
