*Texas Coach Steve Sarkisian Under Pressure to Win Now With Mostly Soft Big 12 Schedule in 2023*
Host of the HOF College Football Podcast, Jason Watkins, breaks down the 2023 Big 12 Football schedule for the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns with KChris Griffin of the Horns Downs Podcast and Jay Smith from Unfair Sports.
In this segment, the fellas talk Texas and just how Coach Steve Sarkisian's seat will get if the Longhorns don't threaten 10 wins and a Big 12 title in his third and final season in the league.
The schedule came a later than expected -- by two weeks -- and has had Oklahoma and Texas fans wondering what the conference has in store for what is likely the schools' last season in the league before moving to the SEC.
KChris says that if Sarkisian lives down to his unfortunate -- yet funny -- "7-Win Sark" moniker in his third season in Austin, it could spell the end of the line before the Longhorns ever make it to the SEC conference.
Will Arch Manning end up taking snaps in front of Quinn Ewers if Texas doesn't get off to a hot start? Jason and Jay believe that, at the very least, Texas boosters and the fan base will begin clamoring for Manning heir apparent.
In view of the fact that Sarkisian has never in his career won 10 games -- and only once had 9 wins -- chances are we're likely to see Manning on the field earlier than the coach is planning.
