HOF College Football LIVE Host Jason Watkins is joined by Midland Reporter-Telegram Sports Editor Oscar LeRoy to Talk Texas Tech Red Raider Recruiting Momentum, Driven by second-year head coach Joey McGuire, the only Tech coach to ever beat Texas and Oklahoma in the same season.
McGuire's first-year success and magnetic personality is upsetting the natural order of things in regard to recruiting in the State of Texas, stacking in-state QB talents Behren Morton and 2024 commit Will Hammond to follow returning starter Tyler Shough, not to mention apparently winning over the state's top-ranked wide receiver Micah Hudson, who has been heavily pursued by both the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies in recent months.
With the Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners soon to join A&M in the Southeastern Conference in 2024, McGuire appears to have the Red Raiders ready to step to the front of the line in Big 12 Conference Football.
