When USC, UCLA Announced they were leaving the Pac 12 for the Big Ten in 2025 on Thursday, the rest of the college football world was sent into Defcon 4 in scrambling to secure all the teams possible to keep their conferences alive.
The Big 12 Conference, which lost flagship schools in Oklahoma and Texas a year ago to the SEC, is making a push to secure its future in the aftermath of Thursday's announcement.
The Big Twelve hopes to pick off remaining Pac 12 powers like Oregon and Washington, as well as defending conference champion Utah before the Reeling Pac 12 get's its own bearings and begins securing its own future in what feels like a prelude to the creation of College Football Super Leagues in the near future.

In getting Oregon, Washington, and Utah, the Big 12 immediately gets two new built-in rivalries to add to conference relevancy. Utah's addition would see it join bitter rival BYU in the conference, and the Ducks would retain their regional rivalry with the Huskies should they all agree to join the conference preparing for life post-Oklahoma and Texas moving off to the SEC in 2024 or 2025.
The ACC, home of the two-time National Champion in the College Football Playoff era Clemson appears to be among the conferences in peril if Notre Dame does as many believe it will and also joins rival USC in the Big 10.
So where does that leave Dabo Swinney's Tigers and traditional powers fallen on hard times Florida State and Miami.
The easy answer is to the Southeastern Conference, of course, where the Tigers, 'Noles and Hurricanes would run a gauntlet not only featuring a pair of nemesis in Georgia and Alabama, but also new-look LSU, and 2025 additions from the Big 12 Oklahoma and Texas.
