*Sooners Hosting Six 5-Star Recruits for Bedlam Grudge Match with Cowboys in Norman*
_Visiting Recruit Will Join Show to Talk About His OU Experience_
HOF College Football Podcast Host Jason Watkins breaks down the Oklahoma Sooners' win Saturday night in #Bedlam game against Little Brother Oklahoma State, interacting with audience members over all the day's College Football action, and doing an interview with a 2023 Recruiting Cycle recruit who had an unofficial visit to Oklahoma for the game.
Jason also gives his initial feelings on how the game may have impacted the decisions of all those 2023 high-level recruits in attendance (Six 5-Star Players and 17 total from the 2023 class made their official or unofficial visits to OU Saturday).
Those who were at Gaylord Memorial Stadium included 5-Star Defensive lineman from Houston David Hicks (currently committed to Texas A&M), and 5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen from Denton (TX) Guyer HS, who is committed to Notre Dame at the moment.
Senior QB Kade Hewitt of Tennessee was also among the players in the 2023 Class to be invited for the Bedlam visit. Hewitt and his father, Chad, joined the show to tell us about their experience, as well as their impressions of the program following their day at OU.
Was the win and everything that comes with Bedlam enough for first-year head coach Brent Venables and his staff flip Bowen and Hicks, or A&M Commit and 4-Star linebacker Daymion Sanford? Time will tell, but beating avenging last year's loss to in-state whipping-boy (The Pokes are NOT Rivals at 91-19-7) couldn't hurt, and Hewitt said the recruits in attendance enjoyed the vibe throughout the game and day.
All that, along with reaction to the rest of the Big 12 and national slate of games that carry Big 12, Pac 12, and College Football Playoff implications.
Those include USC and Lincoln Riley's win in the Rose Bowl over crosstown rival UCLA, fifth-ranked Tennessee losing Hendon Hooker to injury and getting housed by Spencer Rattler's South Carolina Gamecocks, and Oregon holding on to beat the Utah Utes in Eugene late Saturday.
